it's raining, it's pouring!

From years of drought, we have running water gurgling happily in the dams and river, and all water tanks are full.
This means crops are being planted, weeds are growing, and washing can be done whenever! Yeah......
It has been 7 years since the dams were running over into each other, and it is a sight we cannot get enough of.
Now we are not so worried about getting tiling done - it is straight into planting and weeding. Hopefully we will earn some money this year to compensate for the past 3 years of not.
This is the side of WWOOFING that wwoofers never think of:-
As hosts, we give you accommodation in our home (trusting you, even though you are strangers to us!), we let you use our water, electricity and gas, (even though we have to pay for it) and we feed you (even if the weather has dictated that there was no outside work today) and all we ask in return is some general farm work (that our children could do from the age of 5), and a happy attitude to life.
Why are we hosts? Because we enjoy meeting people of different nationalities and sharing discussions, watching our children learn to become more open and gregarious, and to share their home and their thoughts.

Anyway it happens, I am still skipping.  The universe is in balance for us, and hopefully for everyone else as well.

Happy October, 2010.
