yeah - work has begun!

October, 2010.

After much searching, we found a tradie - Stephen and his partner Claire from Ireland.  Stephen is an electrician and Claire is a set designer. We also hosted Maddie from Sweden at the same time. Maddie was fantastic in the paddocks with the garlic, snow peas and manure. Awesome!
Stephen started on the wwoof house that Allan had already removed ceiling and wall damaged from water. That house is now looking awesome. Claire and Maddie painted, and Claire was also tradie assistant.
From that to our house, and the bathroom was finally looking like a family bathroom, with shelves and a new vent. Pleasure still ripples through me each time I open the bathroom door. It has been a 13 year journey! As all farmers know, there is always money needed to be spent in the paddocks, fencing, seed, fertilizer, irrigation, tractor  repairs, dams, electricity to the pumps...... The list goes on. So in farm time, 13 years is nothing!
Then, lo and behold, a kitchen pantry evolved. If i could skip, I would. So instead, i cooked good food, and fed my wonderful wwoofers. We talked, and laughed, and got slimed by 7 the wonder dog!
Maddie moved on to meet up with friends, and then there was 2.
Stephen and Claire stayed on for a week, then Claire was abducted by the movie people(she got a job as a set designer on a movie - Yeah Claire). Unfortunately, she took Stephen with her! LOL. Now life is a lot quieter, but the house is feeling happy. Next up- a tiler for the floors! Can we be so lucky?
