Hi all. Well what an awesome start to the year. Water everywhere, and not a drop to drink! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who suffered through the floods. We had a sleepless 2 nights, watching the rising waters, and measuring how far before we fled. The water was so strong it actually collapsed the council road onto our property! Now we have a hole in the road you can hide a semi in! We understand that there is a lot of work to be done before our road is fixed, but as it took our fences, and deposited the road onto our land, the boys have been working hard. A temporary fence is in place - enough to keep the horse on the property - and the other animals are now in paddocks where the fences have been cleared of flood debris. Once again we have wonderful woofer here to help. Luckily our vegetables are on high ground and the flood waters never touched them. The rain was a totally different story. Too much rain did a lot of damage to the root crops. Farmers - you know we are only happy for one week a year! Either it is drought, rain, or wind damage. ha ha!
Good luck to all in qld, nsw and victoria suffering from inundation, and the same to the west coast with too much heat. Wouldn't live in a town if you paid me!
